Celebrated Czech Beer Launched in Four Markets

NORWALK, Conn. (June 10, 2005) – Binding Brauerei U.S.A. (BBUSA), importers of such world renowned brews as Clausthaler Non-Alcoholic and DAB, has added another European beer to its portfolio, Krusovice Imperial, from the Czech Republic (www.krusovice.cz/en).
Krusovice Imperial was introduced to major markets in Illinois, Wisconsin, New Jersey and New York just in time for Memorial Day weekend. BBUSA plans a larger product launch later this year which will include Krusovice Cerne (Dark). Krusovice is available in 16.9 oz. bottles and 50-liter kegs. Suggested retail price is $1.49 to $1.99 per bottle.
Krusovice Imperial is a lager brewed following the classical tradition and recipe of Czech beers, but using modern technology and facilities, including anti-corrosive cylindroconical tanks and computer controls. Superior quality Czech malt, natural spring water from the Krivoklat Woods, and hops from the Zatec region are used in the production of the Imperial lager.
“BBUSA has established a tradition of bringing great European lagers to the U.S.,” said Dilip Mehta, chief operating officer of BBUSA. “We believe that Krusovice will be a valuable addition to our portfolio because of its obvious high quality.”
Brewery Krusovice, the home of Krusovice beer, was one of the first licensed breweries in the Czech Republic. Official documents date the brewery’s inception to the year 1581. The brewery was sold to Emperor Rudolf II in 1583, who took special care of it for years to come. The brewery became fully privatized in 1993 and new ownership transformed it from a local to a truly global supplier of world-class beers.
BBUSA, a subsidiary of Radeberger Gruppe AG in Frankfurt, was established in April 1999, and now imports and distributes Radeberger Premium Pilsner, Clausthaler Classic and Amber Non-Alcoholic, DAB Original, DAB Low Carb Light and DAB Dark, and Henninger beers.
